I used to work a forty hour week, handle two kids, help with homework, and cook – yes, every night.
For the life of me, I don’t know what the hell happened. I’ve been retired for twenty years and with each passing year, the hours of the day, shrink.
We’re only six weeks out to my favorite time of year and one of the busiest times for me – Spring. More specifically, April. My granddaughter’s birthday is at the beginning of the month, and I’ve planned a week of travel to Washington DC in the middle of the month for my daughter’s birthday.
So, what do I do? Signed up for the Blogging A -Z Challenge for April 2016.
Yep, it’s official. I don’t have a clue what came over me.
I’d love to hear your comments. Talk to me. Tell me your story and look for me on Facebook at SheilaMGood, Pinterest, Bloglovin, Twitter@sheilagood, and Contently.
My birthday is in April and I’ve been looking for a prod of my own that will nudge me to write on a (more) regular basis. I’ve checked out the Challenge’s website and noted the rules which appear to be stringent enough, but in a kind of nice way, to do the trick. Since I’m kind of self-critical, I prefer to draft a bit in advance and put at least a little polish on before posting. Since I also have CRS, I’ll have to try to remember that I want to sign up before the deadline!

That’s exactly what I’m doing. Good luck and thanks for stopping by.

At 69, I’m not retired yet. Too busy to add one more responsibility. Easy for me to pass this one up.

I may have bitten off more than I can chew, but I’ll give it a go and see.

Can’t wait to read your posts. I should check out that challenge too. I don’t have kids yet and I am not married. But work still occupies most of my time and I usually plan ahead and schedule some writing and reading time so I still get to write. I don’t get to write as often as I’d like but something is better than nothing. right? My suggestion is using the schedule feature in wordpress. It can be very useful. Maybe block 30-40 minutes in your daily schedule for writing. 🙂

I unofficially did the A-Z Challenge last year. Felt like I had homework every night for a month – dashing home to write a post. But when it was all over, I felt kind of empty, like something was missing from my life. I must go sign up for it. What month are we in? Right, almost to March – have a month to think about all of this and get ready. Let the games begin!!!!!!!

I’m doing my best to plan ahead, but we’ll see. As you said, “Let the games begin!”

Looks fun! I toyed with it, but April being the month of our big move I doubt I could give it my full attention. I’ll look forward to reading though. Good luck!

I’ve been toying with the idea ever since I got the email. Still bouncing it around. Last year just about whipped my butt. LOL

Well, I can understand why you’re pondering it, with everything coming up.

I’ve often wondered how I managed to get everything down when I was younger too.
Your words are perfectly describing how I feel sometimes. Nice post ….

Great post. My wife and I had a baby girl in our mid-40’s and she seems to be growing up much faster than our older kids. It seems like I blink and all of a sudden she’s turning 8 this week. I’m trying to pack as much into this ‘home stretch’ of life as possible. I’m not going out without a fight.

I can’t imagine having a child at that time of life, but then I just learned my oldest daughter, soon to be 39 is expecting a surprise in Sept. LOL .My youngest will turn 33 next month! It all moves too fast. Thanks for stopping by, reading and commenting.
