As a fan and user of the software Grammarly, I look forward to receiving my weekly progress report. It’s like being in high school again. I’m not graded, thank God, but the report does provide insight and includes my longest writing streak, productivity, accuracy, vocabulary, and top three writing mistakes.
Can you guess the mistake that always appears? You got it! The first time the comma isn’t listed – we’ll celebrate with virtual champagne! Okay, not sure how that would work, but I’ll toast you while I enjoy a glass or two.
This week’s progress report noted I was 97% more productive than other writers. I read that twice, 97 %? My first thought was, who’s using my account? And, the second thought was, where’s the evidence? Cause damned if I can find all that productivity.
Then they gave me this little nugget. 7 weeks of active writing? Tolstoy? War and Peace? Somebody was sipping the bottle.
Regardless, it was inspiring. You, my friends, my fellow fence jumpers, may be reading a post from the next Tolstoy! Or, not.

Apparently, I too am writing War and Peace and Grammarly reminds me I should not spell you yuo and, like you say is no one else writing anything if we’re really that active?

So there I was, wishing I could excuse myself from the task that’s had me glued to the chair all day – like it or not – when I took my last break to catch up on my blog buddies. Two hours later I realized I can come back to my Grammerly v Autocrit research AFTER I wrap up this chapter … Sheesh. Thanks for the run though 😀

Congrats on the 97%
Sometimes I wish I’d paid more attention in school, but I get over the feeling quickly. After all, there were more interesting things than punctuation fighting more my consideration–namely, girls.

I was an ok student, certainly not the best. That’s not the problem – I’ve forgotten everything I learned. LOL

I’ve never used grammarly, but have heard several bloggers talk about it. I have used autocrit in the past. I’m assuming they are similar. It points out clichés, grammatical errors, overused words etc.

I’ve used Autocrit in the past; then they hiked the price up and I dropped them. They have made substantial changes are geared specifically toward writers. might wan to check out the changes. When I look at the premium level of Grammarly, they are comparable in price. And, given all the changes, may give them another try. If you do, would love to hear what you think.
