All writers, regardless of their level of expertise, need encouragement and the occasional pat on the back. Today, I awoke to a pat on the back and a congratulatory email.
“Congratulations! Thank you for your submission to Donut Factory. We would be delighted to include “Maggie’s New Beginning” in the upcoming Fall 2016 print issue, as well as the 2016 year-end collection.”
To say I’m thrilled is insufficient. This story is one of my favorites and one I always believed I would, eventually, find a home. Thank you Donut Factory Press.

I’m so proud of you–and me–it’s nice to have a friend who is a winner. 🙂 It’s always nice to rack up a publishing credit. This writing stuff is hard work and we all need an occasional win to keep us motivated and sitting in front of the keyboard. There’s nothing like a little affirmation that our work is worthy of print to get the creative juices flowing. You go girl!

Congratulations Sheila. Yes, we all need encouragement. A win every now and then sure doesn’t hurt. Being published is quite an encouragement and being offered spots in both the fall and end of the year issue, now that’s what I call a big win.
Like Patricia said, it’s hearing the good news stories such as yours that gives me the momentum to keep going. I’m very happy for you. I just popped over to Amazon to check out the Spring and Summer issues of Donut Factory and was pleased to see such a variety of stories. I can’t wait for the fall and end of year issue. I’m really looking forward to reading Maggie’s New Beginning. It sounds like this story is special to you. You should be proud, it’s such an accomplishment. Thanks for sharing and for giving me hope.
