DAILY PROMPT: Write a new post in response to today’s one-word prompt – Panic

We all know the feeling. In an instant you find yourself gulping for air like a fish on the floor. Your heart pounds so hard against your chest; you’d swear others can hear it. The air turns thick, and you can’t breathe. A chill of realization crawls up your neck and terror wells up in your belly. Your hands shake, and your skin grows clammy.

You feel like screaming, crying, or throwing the computer to the floor, but you can’t move. Instead, you sit and stare wide-eyed at the monitor as if doing so, will make the words of your manuscript, mistakenly deleted, magically reappear.
