tweetthisDay 20: #AtoZChallenge

I’m sure you’re familiar with the, “Tweet This,”embedded quotes used on other blog sites. It’s a great way to get readers engaged in the content of your blog and to share it with others.

If you self host, you can use the Tweet This plugin, but these plugins only apply to self-hosted blogs and web sites that use the WordPress.org software.

For those of us on WordPress.com, there is a way around the plugins.

You can use HTML if you’re comfortable dealing with code (more about that here). Or, you could simply go to the website Click to Tweet.

Enter the quote you want shared into the box, click on “generate new link,” and the URL used for the anchor link to your quote will appear.

We’re heading into the last few posts for the #AtoZChallenge. It’s been an exciting and challenging month (no pun intended). When I signed up to do this challenge, I wasn’t certain I could post every day, but I’m a pretty determined woman. So for those of you who who been on this journey with me and see the light at the end of the tunnel, here’s a quote to keep your feet to the fire.

“The difference between the impossible and the possible lies in a person’s determination.” -Tommy Lasorda. Via @sheilamgood. Tweet This

What do you think? Like the idea of Click to Tweet?

I’d love to hear your comments. Talk to me. Tell me your story and look for me on Facebook at SheilaMGood,  PinterestBloglovinTwitter@sheilamgood, and Contently.

  2. I have the click to tweet on my blog, but I seldom use it. I completely forgot about it, It’s not so much on my blog, but I subscribe to the “Click to Tweet,” the site. I used it a few times when I first subscribed, but I don’t even know if anyone ever “clicked” on it. When I see it on other blogs, I do use it. I click it. I click to tweed to share the message from their blog on Twitter. I like that they’ve made it easy for me to share and I like that they’ve chosen the words or phrase they want tweeted. I don’t know if I will still have it once my new blog design is up. I haven’t seen the finished product.

I’ve really enjoyed getting to know you and I’ve truly benefited from your very thorough, enlightening and entertaining posts.

    • I’ve heard some people use and others don’t. I too use it when the quote is something I like or think others might like. I haven’t used a great deal, but plan to in the future. It’s another way to break up a post. Thanks always for your comments and support.

    • It seems like my life stays complicated. Lol. Had I not planned ahead, I doubt I would have gotten this far. I’m trying to improve on Twitter but it’s slow. Love your history blog. Thanks for coming by and look forward to talking more in the future

  4. I’m still kind of new to all of this, The only thing that I have for twitter is when I make a post it automatically gets tweeted to my account so I don’t have to. I look forward to reading more of your work. Hope you have a good evening!

  5. Hi Sheila, I am doing the challenge but have gotten several posts behind, haven’t stayed on track like you. I am glad we are getting close to the end though, although the thought of coming up with something for X, Y, and Z are making me a bit nervous.
Ps I am not much a tweeter, I can never come with anything very clever to say.

    • Thanks Peter. It was a challenge for sure. Especially since I was out of town for 5 days and have been under the weather this week ! I just hope i didn’t make too many grammatical errors. Lol. Thank you for all your encouragement and support. I’m glad you like the post. As always, it’s a pleasure when you visit.

  6. I have enjoyed walking with you through the A to Z Blog Challenge. Even though I have been a follower of your blog before the challenge, I stayed in the background because I was busy working on my manuscript. It has been my pleasure to learn much from the articles you have posted, including this one, tweet this. I’m getting back into tweeting and this is a very handy tool.

As for the quote, I so agree. What keeps me going is believing the impossible is possible. It is that dogged determination to knock down doors until I’ve reached my goal.

Visiting from the A to Z Blog Challenge.

    • Patricia, you are too kind. I have enjoyed our conversations very much and am so glad you moved from the background to the forefront. This challenge has given me so many new friends and their blogs – I’m most grateful. Thank you for sticking with me and I hope our conversations will continue long after this challenge is over.
