Christmas Glimmer

What it’s all about: Five Sentence Fiction is about packing a powerful punch in a tiny fist. Each week I will post a one word inspiration, then anyone wishing to participate will write a five sentence story based on the prompt word.

Christmas, with lights shimmering on every building, was Clara’s favorite time of year. Holiday spirits permeated the rough skin of society and everyone’s eyes sparkled.

“Don’t you love Christmas,” Clara said.

“Yes, even more if you will marry me,” Nate said, dropping to one knee.

Clara’s heart thumped against her chest as she stared at the little black box in Nate’s trembling hand; its glimmer greater than all lights combined.
